Performs professional and technical supervisory work in the coordination of the County's permit application review process.
Administers, supervises and ensures accuracy of application intake, application sufficiency, completeness, fee assessment, incidental zoning review and issuance.
Plans, assigns and supervises the performance of the Plans Specialists and Administrative Technicians; ensures proper implementation of the Unified Land Development Code (ULDC);
liaises with other work groups / agencies; interacts with other departments / divisions. Work is performed with considerable independence and is reviewed by a superior through reports, conferences and observation of results.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three (3) years of experience in the administration and enforcement of land development regulations or land development permit application review processes;
- one (1) year of supervisory experience. Equivalencies : Master's Degree / Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Urban and / or Regional Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, Physical or Natural Sciences, Business / Public Administration or related field AND one (1) year of supervisory experience;
unrelated Bachelor's Degree / related Associate's Degree AND one (1) year of related experience; one (1) year of supervisory experience.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH : Monitoring / auditing the work of others (must specify on application) ; reviewing building permit applications and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
Also desirable : One (1) year of experience performing quality control in a governmental environment (must specify entity on application) ;
International Code Council (ICC) Permit Technician Certification; knowledge of real estate (must specify on application) .
