As the Regulatory and Rates analyst , you will
Provide technical and regulatory support to Transmission Operations regarding Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) activities and land management issues.
Specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to :
Assist in preparation of monthly construction report filings to meet PUC Substantive Rules.
Assist in preparing and ensuring final construction reports are filed with PUC within days of energization.
Review proposed transmission projects for routing issues and compliance with PUCT substantive rules.
Monitor and prepare status reports on CCN’s and related filings.
Evaluate routing alternatives, gather supporting documentation, and maintain contact with management, CenterPoint Energy regulatory staff, attorneys, PUCT staff, civic organizations, and governmental entities.
Keep informed of activities regarding transmission regulation and make presentations (written and oral) to management and others on pertinent issues.
Serve as a department representative on task forces or committees regarding transmission regulatory activities.
Assist in preparation of regulatory filings including testimony, schedules, work papers, requests for information and briefs on a timely basis and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Works closely with industry associations to coordinate industry responses to key rate and regulatory issues.
Establishes and maintains communications with members of the appropriate CenterPoint departments to identify and research current issues or trends affecting regulatory environment.
Assist in reviews of legislative bills for impact to the High Voltage Operations.
Basic Qualifications :
Education :
A 4-year college degree specializing in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Wildlife Management, or other related field.
Experience :
Minimum of 2 years electric utility or consulting experience in a regulatory or environmental activities role.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, Certifications, and Licenses :
Ability to read, interpret, summarize, and discuss maps, drawings, technical and regulatory manuals and documents regarding transmission lines, environmental impacts, or litigation filings.
Ability to perform advanced mathematical computations (algebra and trigonometry) required for engineering and economic calculations.
