Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Designs, implements, and coordinates operational facets of a specific program.
  • Develops strategic plans and objectives that ensure the program's continued success, and develops evaluation methods to assess outcomes.
  • Conducts program research and ensures that the preparation of mandatory operational, statistical, and financial reports are accurate and factual, and that all reports comply with federal and state regulations and / or institutional policies.
  • Designs training programs and materials, conducts training sessions, and represents the program at various conferences, meetings, or seminars.
  • May plan, administer, or monitor the program's budget and / or grants, and conduct financial forecasting for the program.
  • May develop fundraising programs, including researching and identifying funding sources, and writing and submitting grant proposals.
  • Serves as a liaison to and interacts with other groups and organizations participating in the program or seeking knowledge of the program;

may write and present speeches.

  • Maintains complete and accurate program records.
  • May serve on or chair various University committees.
  • May supervise program staff, interns, and / or volunteers.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

A bachelor's degree in a field related to specified program areas and five years related program management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS :

  • Takes the lead on advising for a variety of education abroad programs including academics, scholarship opportunities, health / safety, and cultural adaptation, as well as supporting students with questions while abroad.
  • The senior advisor is a key member of the summer faculty-led team, and supports summer faculty-led programs through advising, application management, administrative and logistical support.
  • Evaluates established processes and implements improvements. Contributes to the assessment of Education Abroad Programs.
  • Leads some outreach and recruitment efforts. Presents and runs special events, updates, and manages program materials including application processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Three or more years of experience advising or mentoring college students on Education Abroad opportunities.

Strong administrative and organizational skills. Strong technology skills (experience with social media management, Canva Pro, Slate, Navigate, and / or Terra Dotta or a similar data management software).

  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills and ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team.
  • Experience studying, working, or living in an intercultural environment (., studying abroad or working with multicultural populations).
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, talent for effectively balancing and prioritizing multiple responsibilities, and willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with other team members.
  • Second language experience may be helpful.

NOTE : Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
