Job Type : Part-Time
Location : Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ
Duties :
- Direct all worship music accompaniment and choir direction at Protestant services as instructed by the Protestant Service Chaplain.
- Select and prepare music for weekly services and special events in coordination with the Protestant Service Chaplain.
- Recruit, train, and manage choir members, ensuring they are prepared for performances.
- Conduct weekly rehearsals and additional rehearsals for special events.
- Monitor and maintain chapel musical instruments and ensure the proper use and storage of musical equipment.
- Coordinate music selections with the service musician and ensure compliance with safety and security requirements.
- Provide choir support for military and civilian community events as directed.
- Participate actively in the Protestant community at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
Requirements :
- Minimum of three years of experience leading a choir and providing musical accompaniment for Protestant worship services.
- Familiarity with Protestant faith tenets as practiced within the Protestant tradition.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a choir within a pluralistic environment.
- A college degree in music is highly desired.
- Ability to demonstrate rhythmic accuracy, music sensitivity, and proficiency in reading music.
