Position Overview
This position will manage the corporation’s strategic sourcing process and leads process direction, oversight and methods for company contracts.
Experience with large, complex contract negotiations with enterprise suppliers (i.e. IBM, Microsoft, Dell, etc.) is critical to success in this role.
Directs work flow, assigning work responsibilities and providing assistance and technical guidance to both business partners and Sourcing leaders.
In addition, the employee is responsible for increasing shareholder value through significant dollar savings impact to the Company’s bottom line and limiting the Company’s risk and liability exposure through appropriate contract development.
The incumbent will work with a high level of autonomy and will provide feedback and updates to Strategic Sourcing Manager;
as well ensuring their job responsibilities are performed in a manner consistent with corporate and technology risk management standards
In this role you will manage and execute best-in-class sourcing strategies to include : identification of sourcing projects, conducting risk management / due diligence, leveraging electronic tools and technology, regularly participating in and / or leading price negotiations, contract preparation and execution, and providing information and influence to facilitate award decisions.
Responsible for understanding details and general market knowledge of assigned commodity products and services.
Provides value added consultation and recommends process reengineering and efficiencies where applicable. Interfaces with all levels of management and frequently serves as a liaison between external providers and internal business partners for moderate to complex situations / projects and decisions that may have a significant impact to the Company.
Lead, coordinate and facilitate cross-functional commodity teams in the execution of the corporate strategic sourcing process for projects related to assigned Technology commodities;
Overall outcome intended is to meet or exceed commodity plan performance objectives. Influence decisions that may have a significant impact to the company.
Understand, and negotiate terms advantageous to the company in order to develop well-written and legally binding contracts to secure goods and services throughout the company.
Determine and implement supplier performance and cost reduction programs. Evaluate and measure vendor performance to ensure they are meeting expectations, including price, lead time, responsiveness, and contract commitment.
Build strong service partner relationships by establishing a leadership role in the focus on satisfying customer requirements, gaining strategic alignment, effectively monitoring and measuring results, and being cognizant of cross-organizational impacts.
Meet formally on a regular basis with key executive business partners.
Conduct market research and detailed data analysis to identify areas in which to develop annual cost savings programs; Develop, advocate, and implement sourcing and negotiation strategies for those key spend areas to achieve short and long term savings targets;
Execute and manage the development of sourcing strategies that are aligned with organizational objectives and brand goals.
Job Description
Researches and negotiates our most significant, strategic and complex sourcing initiatives related to major organizational contracts and procurements.
These initiatives typically involve more time due to complexity and require high levels of strategic agility often interacting with multiple levels of executives across multiple lines of business.
- Prepares the most complex purchasing assignments having the most extensive business requirements and selection criteria.
- Consults with vendors to obtain optimum pricing and availability information. Researches and negotiates highly complex organizational purchases.
- Negotiates with vendors to obtain optimum quality, cost, terms, etc., in conjunction with contract construction to effectuate the potentially complex development of enterprise agreements
- Develops and monitors effectiveness of purchasing strategies and effectiveness; initiates improvements as necessary.

Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required.
In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
