Job Summary : The HR & Quality Generalist provides support for these two departments by managing administrative process such as the hiring, pre-employment, onboarding, and skills / certifications processes for HR and Document Control and Certification Recordkeeping for the Quality Department.

Talent Acquisition

  • Responsible for oversight of the applicant tracking system, creating and posting job descriptions and assisting hiring managers in the recruitment process.
  • Makes job offers according to our hiring process and upon acceptance, schedules pre-employment activities including background checking, drug-testing, and physicals.
  • Participates in staffing meetings to understand the staffing needs / requests to ensure pipeline of qualified candidates through the system.
  • Assists in the planning and organizing of special events for employees, recruiting and community relations.

Orientation and Onboarding

  • Oversees the onboarding process for new hires including communication with new hires for new employee orientation, creating and sending out onboarding checklist and making sure it’s completed, and entering new information into payroll system(s).
  • Manages the orientation process every two weeks ensuring that trainers have what they need and are prepared to present.

Promotes MTS values and culture throughout all communications, both inside and outside the organization.

Document Control

  • Engage in the document control process company wide.
  • Create, revise and retire SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and forms as needed based on content provided by each division (Safety, HR, Quality, etc.)
  • Ensure all document reviews are completed according to the review schedule and document control standards in CORE. The Compliance Specialist must communicate with all departments to successfully coordinate this process.
  • Assist all department leaders with documentation control practices as needed

Certification Tracking and Recordkeeping

  • Assist as needed in the employee certification creation, filing and tracking process (internal training folders, LMS / Certificate Tracking locations, customer compliance databases).
  • All processes and record retention to be performed in compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
  • On a monthly basis, record the total mileage for all MTS company vehicles and report to the Office Manager.
  • Assist in obtaining and filing MTS vehicles registrations.

Other duties as assigned

  • Assist MTS leadership as needed.
  • General Support functions : scanning, faxing, filing, photocopying, etc.
  • Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Technical writing skills preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Problem-solving identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Approachable by employees at all levels of the organization
  • Maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas, and exhibits willingness to explore new ideas.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Ability to provide courteous customer service to both internal and external customers.

Educational Development and Qualifications :

  • Minimum Associate’s degree in business or related preferred or equivalent experience
