This part-time position reports directly to the Acting Deputy Director of Community Development and is essential in supporting Goal #4 of the City of Pacifica 2023-2030 Strategic Plan .

The Program Manager will work closely with the City’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan Task Force , City Council, City staff, and the Pacifica community to update the Climate Action & Adaption Plan (CAAP).

This role is crucial in advancing the City’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and enhance its response to the ongoing effects of climate change.

The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating with the CAAP Task Force members, City staff, partner organizations, contractors, and the public to ensure the success of the CAAP Update.

This includes developing the goals and objectives of the Draft CAAP in partnership with the CAAP Task Force, overseeing the technical analysis and compilation of the Draft CAAP, and executing a robust community engagement plan to gather input from a broad and diverse cross-section of the Pacifica community.

The Project Manager will ensure that the Draft CAAP is aligned with the strategic objectives of the City and has the community support necessary for successful implementation.

BASIC EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Coordinate with CAAP Task Force members, City staff, partner organizations, contractors, and the public to ensure the success of the CAAP Update.
  • Develop the goals and objectives of the Draft CAAP in partnership with the CAAP Task Force, ensuring alignment with the needs of the Pacifica community and the City’s strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the technical analysis and compilation of the Draft CAAP.
  • Manage a robust community engagement plan to gather input from a broad and diverse cross-section of the Pacifica community, ensuring relevance and community support for proposed goals and action items in the Draft CAAP.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and conferences; make presentations to the City Council, City administrators, public officials, professional organizations, and contractors regarding matters relating to areas of assigned responsibilities.
  • Prepare a variety of reports, correspondence, and special studies as required.
