CTE Instructor HVAC Program
Position Details
Pickford Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced HVAC Instructor to join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program starting in the - school year.
The Career-Tech Classroom Instructor shall organize, coordinate, promote, and give direction to a comprehensive instructional program for the HVAC CTE Program.
This position is part time (15 hours per week 3 hours per day).
Valid and current Michigan CTE Teaching Certificate for Secondary Level with Michigan Vocational Authorization in occupational area (Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Refrigeration (CIP 47.
or eligibility for Annual Authorization based on industry experience. Degree or equivalent training in HVAC field preferred.
- Minimum of hours of documented recent and relevant work experience within the last 10 years in HVAC related field. Industry certifications and licenses, or similar endorsement preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver effective instruction in a technical setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
Must complete and pass the required criminal history check.
- Develop and deliver engaging and rigorous HVAC coursework aligned with Michigan CTE standards.
- Utilize hands-on learning experiences, including lab activities and work-based learning opportunities, to equip students with the technical skills needed for success in the HVAC industry.
- Infuse leadership development within instruction.
- Inspire and motivate students to explore career paths in HVAC, including installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment including industry and lab safety.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
