Purpose
This position will ensure eligible populations receive health promotion services within the state of New Jersey. This role will work with a team to create a curriculum for U.
S. health system orientations, insurance.
Responsibilities
- Report program outcomes, outputs, and ongoing programmatic needs to Associate Director
- Work with other RHPs and local organizations to create monthly support groups.
- Have thorough knowledge of multiple program requirements to ensure compliance with funders.
- Coordinate medical case management with social service agencies to address barriers to clients accessing health and wellness services.
Develops new relationships when necessary to address ongoing client needs.
- Complete all program documentation and ensure case files are accurate with current case notes.
- Develops tools for presentations to local service agencies and other community groups, to identify new partnerships that promote health and wellness.
- Educate and inform clients of U.S. medical and insurance systems.
- Equip clients to address medical bills.
- Keeps supervisor informed of complaints, issues and / or problems for timely investigation and resolution.
- Represents the program at meetings and speaking engagements relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
- Ensure all personal identifiable information is held to the highest confidentiality standard.
- Attend coordination meetings with other sites implementing similar programming.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in lieu of degree required.
Experience :
- 3 years of previous work experience with refugees or immigrant communities required.
- 3 years of previous work experience within health and wellness systems and programs
- Ability to work independently with a high level of comfort and skill interacting with partner organizations and coordinating people and resources.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment required.
Other Skills :
- Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) and internet applications required.
- Proficiency in English required.
