Raytheon has an opening for a Principal Material Planning Specialist in our Materials Planning and Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) team.
The successful candidate has working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems in a manufacturing environment and utilizes data-driven decision making to enable effective planning and execution.
They will manage the analysis and maintenance of purchase material planning parameters and the release of material replenishment orders that result from the master production plant or program needs with regards to Kanban / SMI materials.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with the Front-End Planning, Demand Planning, and Procurement functions to ensure that materials are available for production while maintaining the integrity of the MRP plan.
- You will be part of a collaborative team to assure material is replenished according to that MRP Plan and that the plan reflects operational reality and program’s material strategies.
- Align purchased material availability in support of manufacturing value streams to the operational plans that govern them through MRP
- Will provide the factory and our suppliers with an executable schedule that achieves on-time delivery to our customer, the warfighter.
- It will interface with Demand Planning, Production Control, Factory Operations, Program Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance to help ensure resources are efficiently utilized based on a low volume, high mix demand profile for programs with competing priorities and unique material challenges.
- They will foster a working environment that promotes safety, security, compliance, and quality while achieving overall customer requirements.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 3 years prior relevant experience.
- Experience with MRP / ERP systems (SAP or equivalent)
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
Qualifications We Value :
- APICS CSCP or equivalent preferred
- Experience in Material and Inventory Control-type systems such as Kanban, SMI, Continuous Flow Manufacturing
- Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, and Teams)

- Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
