JOB SUMMARY
Provides principal support to the HCC Foundation by raising funds to benefit HCC students and programs based on the priorities set forth by the HCC Chancellor and HCC Foundation Board.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Contact individuals, corporations, and foundations on behalf of the HCC Foundation and schedule appointments to learn about their interest in making a gift and their capacity to do so.
- Manage a portfolio of 150 prospects identified to have a capacity of $5,000 or over.
- Participate in prospect research activities, cultivation events, and strategy sessions to identify and evaluate prospects.
- Qualify prospects and cultivate potential contributors; design and develop solicitation strategies to match donors’ interests;
personally solicit gifts and continually steward major gift donors.
- Create and present major gift proposals and donor communications that highlight the successes of the HCC Foundation’s work and HCC student success.
- Assist in hosting campus visits and other special activities to cultivate major donors.
- Represent HCC Foundation at various fundraising and other appropriate meetings.
- Make formal and informal presentations.
- Work with the Development Staff to establish funds and create recognition and stewardship activities when gifts are secured.
- Serve on Advisory Councils at the College to identify program needs and create fundraising strategies to achieve goals for the program where appropriate.
- Manage and administer grant reporting back to the donors.
- Communicate with faculty and staff to determine scholarship opportunities and / or operational support.
- Maintain and manage a comprehensive grant, including reporting and re-allocation.
- Work with the Executive Director of the program to ensure that sub-recipients are compliant with their agreements.
- Review reports and approve payments for sub-recipients and sponsorships.
- Stay abreast of current technical processes regarding major gift solicitation, annual fund programs, stewardship, volunteer management, and external relations.
- Perform other duties, tasks, and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Development, Communications, or a related field required.
- 5 years experience in work-related fundraising / stewardship programs required.
Licensing & Certification
Valid Texas Driver License.

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift;
move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner.
Must access, input, and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements.
May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
