Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage business to achieve / exceed agreed-upon growth, revenue, and operating income objectives.
Establish strategic direction, performance metrics, standards, and measurements for both direct reports, global engineering, and quality teams.
Ensure projects meet established goals including time, quality, cost, and profitability targets.
Cross functionally coordinates the launch of new or revised products in partnership with product management, sales, operations, and quality.
Lead initiatives in partnership with the product management and sales teams to identify and qualify new product opportunities.
Owns project management for engineering projects, and for new product development stage gate process.
Establish Targets for and projects to support annual cost savings initiatives related to product design, manufacturability, and material.
Develop and maintain departmental processes and procedures that align with business needs and support knowledge retention.
Research and implement improved design concepts and fundamental technologies to drive new product development.
Provides technical sales support as needed for special and customized products.
Participates in key customer initiatives including sales and problem-solving activities.
Provides engineering expertise in the areas of tooling, prints, product specifications, product maintenance, raw materials and outside purchases throughout the organization.
Serve as subject matter expert on global regulatory requirements for existing and new products.
Supports companys relations with Regulatory Agencies to get products approved to appropriate standards.
Manage programs, requirements, and matters involving patent, product liability, and intellectual property.
Ensures current and accurate costing in conjunction with finance.
Works with appropriate industry groups and standards organizations to develop and influence industry standards.
Creates and manages overall engineering department budget.
Responsible for the management, mentorship, coaching, and development of department employees.
Develop department employees to support personal goals as well as company succession planning.
What You'd Bring :
Qualifications / Requirements :
Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering; advanced degree is preferred.
7+ years of engineering experience in a similar industry.
5+ years of management experience.
Ability to communicate (written & verbal) at all levels of the organization in English.
Previous experience managing complex and aggressive projects schedules with proven ability to deliver on time and to specification.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally.
Previous experience applying continuous improvements techniques and methodologies within a work environment (PDCA, 7 waste, 5 Why)
