Job Summary
Seeking a Services Consultant III to function in a mid-level capacity, coordinating and preparing studies of moderate complexity, providing professional judgment, and developing solutions for project risks.
Must have at least 3 years of experience, strong knowledge in environmental permitting, federal and environmental regulations, and proficiency in environmental analysis, with additional skills in stormwater regulations, DOT regulations, environmental consulting, and agency management.
Job Description
- Functions in a mid-level consultant or specialist capacity.
- Responsible for performing all aspects of conventional consulting assessments and technical analyses.
- Broadens knowledge and skill set in practice area.
- May start to expand knowledge in other practice areas.
- Demonstrates capabilities with moderate supervision.
- Production : Coordinates and prepares studies of moderate complexity within practice area. Participates in multiple studies or projects simultaneously.
May lead or coordinate field studies and project site visits.
Coordination : Assigns tasks to and coordinates with other practice area team members. Initiates contact with other project team members (internal / external) as needed.
Actively seeks to understand client interests through client contact and interaction with project leadership.
- Capability : Readily identifies project risks and issues and develops recommended solutions on study assignments.
- Knowledge : Provides professional judgment based on industry knowledge in discussing ideas and seeking necessary approvals.
Proactively develops additional knowledge applicable to practice area(s).
- Resources : Leads the development of process and tool improvements.
- People : Provides direction and guidance to others in practice area on study assignments. May mentor and train others.
- Business : Provides support to business development or pursuit.
- Supports environmental studies through regulatory research, environmental assessment, data gathering and analysis, and report writing.
- Environmental studies could involve desktop and / or field work.
- Environmental studies may include the following activities; risk assessments, environmental audits, permit applications, remedial investigations, environmental resource assessments, environmental impact assessments, environmental monitoring, etc.
- Studies may be interdisciplinary, including environmental science and ecology, acoustics and noise control, air regulations and sciences, environmental due diligence and remediation, sustainability and climate change, and routing and right of way.
- Supports the development of permit / license applications through agency consultations and application form preparation.
- Supports the development of proposals through guided research and document development.

Education / Training / Certifications
- Bachelor degree in engineering or professional degree in Sciences in area of expertise preferred with specialized training, or experience that uniquely qualifies the individual to perform the job responsibilities.
