Job Summary : The Manager, Corporate Communications, assists with internal and external communications for the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA), particularly with respect to those activities associated with New Horizon, the expansion plan for Nashville International Airport.

Assists with developing, planning and implementing public relations, media relations, and other programs designed to promote MNAA, aviation, air service and the mission of MNAA.

Other responsibilities include plays a key role in planning and implementing MNAA's social media work and maintaining websites for MNAA and BNA Vision.

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

  • Assists with the responsibilities of the MNAA Corporate Communications Department and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Develops and maintains positive relations with employees, airport tenants and other business partners in order to provide timely, relevant information and to promote the corporate image and interests of the airport.
  • Serves as a back-up Public Information Officer for MNAA and, in such capacity, projects the professional corporate image of the Authority.

This includes being on-call some nights and weekends to respond to media inquiries and any potential airport emergency as needed.

  • Assists Vice President, Corporate Communications and Marketing with media relations, which could include developing press releases, talking points and social media posts with specific, often technical, information.
  • Provides timely, relevant information to promote the corporate image and interests of MNAA.
  • Leads and implements social media campaigns.
  • Assists with implementation of established communications program in the event of airport-related emergencies.
  • Assists with and often leads photography, including video, of external and internal events.
  • Serves as point person for all communications related to New Horizon, MNAA’s growth and expansion plan for Nashville International Airport.

This could include, but not limited to, developing messaging, preparing fact sheets, maintaining website, community and media tours, special events, etc.

  • Serves as a member of MNAA’s Speaker Bureau.
  • Assists with writing and design of MNAA’s internal and external newsletters.
  • Assist with implementing an established communications plan in the event of airport-related emergencies; cooperates with air carrier representatives, as well as local, state and federal governmental agencies and community organizations.
  • Interprets and enforces policies, regulations, and practices as required.
  • Coordinates with others to develop and administer the departmental budget, including invoice processing.
  • Provides leadership and works with staff to create a high performance, service-oriented work environment that supports the Nashville airport experience.
  • Follows all safety regulations.
  • Supports MNAA's commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Corporate Image : Must maintain a professional corporate appearance at all times since practices of public information include on-camera news media interviews and public presentations.

Standards of corporate appearance to be determined by his / her manager.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge.

  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, public relations, English, communications, marketing or related field.
  • 4 years experience in public relations, communications or marketing field.
  • Valid Driver's License

Starting Salary Range : $77,193 - $105,024
