Position Summary
The Project Coordinator (PC) will work with research investigators to implement large-scale research projects. The coordinator will oversee participant recruitment, scheduling, and data collection within CDMH.
The PC will track and report on recruitment and retention of research participants as well as the quality of data collection, and will use subject and data tracking database applications in collaboration with the project data scientist to ensure the data being collected is clean and accurate.
The PC will work with external partners to recruit, screen, and schedule participants into the research studies. In addition, this person will train and oversee a team of undergraduate research assistants, including some paid students, to ensure complete and accurate data collection, and will fill in as needed based on availability.
This person will need to be comfortable making day-to-day decisions about the implementation of the research projects by relying on their background and experience.
Data collection will include standardized interviews, questionnaires, and digital mobile sensing data. This position will have responsibility for training research assistants on all assessment protocols to ensure complete and accurate data collection.
Preferred candidates for the position will have experience in multi-method data collection approaches, including a strong understanding of digital mobile sensing, standardized interviews, and survey collection.
In addition to experience with multi-method data collection, the preferred candidate will have experience training and supervising these types of data and sample collection.
This person must complete and maintain appropriate safety training and certifications as needed, including the bi-annual CITI Human Subjects training and Good Clinical Practice training.
The Project Coordinator will have responsibility for tracking project progress and reporting to CDMH management. They will track changes to the assessment protocol and ensure all assessments are completed in a timely, professional manner.
As needed, the PC will also directly participate in assessment activities. This position also manages IRB protocols for research projects, being the primary point of contact for IRB amendments and submissions.
The PC is responsible for ensuring that all project staff abide by project confidentiality protocols and IRB protocols.
The Project Coordinator will have expertise in study procedures and will work closely with the CDMH management team and the Principal Investigator.
This role will be responsible for recruiting, training, and overseeing a team of research assistants.
Additional expectations of the position :
This position requires a flexible schedule, to include evening and weekend hours to accommodate study participants' availability as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, behavioral science, or a related field
- One year of experience recruiting study participants and conducting data collection with human subjects
- One year of experience with training and oversight of other personnel
