This position is responsible for leading the Production department to achieve safety, quality, and production goals. The position must use strong leadership skills to direct, control, and coordinate the objectives of the manufacturing environment and continuous improvement initiatives.
Position is night 6am to 6pm, on a 2,2,3 rotation schedule.

Supervision 70%
- Promotes safety awareness daily and interacts with support groups to correct safety problems.
- Drives all aspects of the production line and shift activities to safely meet demand identified in the production schedule.
- Coordinates with support departments, plans daily activity, and directs hourly teammates to the completion of assigned tasks.
- Work with Cross Functional Teams (Quality Control, Maintenance, Warehouse) on daily opportunities and counter measures for production related items.
- Completes and validates production data inputs to the production system
- Ensures the production environment is maintained in a clean and safe condition.
- Monitor, analyze, and countermeasure quality-related problems; provide training and retraining to teammates as needed, ensuring proper development of teammates skills and training needs through daily monitoring and follow up.
- Monitors analyze and maintain teammates records for uniformity in the application of company guidelines and policy relating to time keeping, attendance, and counseling.
LEAN Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement 20%
- Reviews and updates working standards, conspicuous standards, and other guiding documents as necessary.
- Maintain the 5S posture of the plant production areas and individually assigned 5s area.
- Effectively communicate to the teammates utilizing the SQDCCP board
- Utilize the SQDCCP board to drive improvement
- Actively participate in the short / long term board meetings, helping to drive root cause and corrective action
Other Functions 10%
- Communicates regularly with management and infrequently with executive leadership
- Other duties as assigned
The working conditions include an indoor dusty non-air-conditioned industrial manufacturing and warehouse environment. Subject to temperatures that range from 65 to 90 degrees in the general working environment and hotter in certain areas of the plant.
Occasional outdoor activities in hot or adverse weather. Twenty-four hour working environment with multiple shifts and varying schedules.
Physical requirements
Must be able to lift up 50 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders, railcar platforms, lift and carry hoses, kneel, bend, reach and stoop.
Periodic periods of prolonged sitting and data entry work. Occasional forklift use.
- High School Diploma with 3+ years’ experience supervising others in a manufacturing environment.
