MAIL SERVICES ASSOCIATE

Job Summary :

Under general supervision, the Mail Services Associate is responsible for performing a variety of routine and special mail delivery services.

This position involves lifting, sorting, and delivering mail and parcels to various locations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing the timely delivery of mail and packages.

Key Responsibilities :

• Sort and deliver incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and other materials to designated recipients within the organization or between departments.
• Lift, load, and unload containers of mail or parcels, ensuring proper handling and distribution.
• Operate and maintain mail processing equipment, including postage meters and sorting machines.
• Ensure the accuracy of mail delivery by verifying addresses and ensuring proper labeling.
• Pick up and deliver interoffice mail, documents, and packages according to established schedules or as requested.
• Maintain records of incoming and outgoing mail, tracking shipments when necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on mail delivery vehicles or equipment.
• Assist with special mailings or bulk shipments as required.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures for mail handling and delivery.
• Provide customer service by responding to inquiries about mail status or delivery issues.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED).
• At least one year of experience in mail services, messenger delivery, or a related field.
• Ability to lift and move containers of mail and parcels up to a designated weight.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills for tracking and processing mail.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience operating mailroom equipment such as postage meters, sorting machines, or tracking software.
• Familiarity with postal regulations and mail handling procedures.
• Experience in a high-volume mail services environment.

Working Conditions :

This position may involve prolonged standing, walking, and lifting. The role is primarily based in an office or mailroom environment, with some travel required for mail delivery between locations.

Occasional outdoor work may be necessary when delivering packages.
