The Cloud PSO / Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) will be responsible for the following duties, supporting the Program Executive Office (PEO) Digital.
Responsibilities
The Package Submitting Office (PSO) ensures the completion of PSO Triage reviews for Risk Management Framework (RMF) Steps 2 and 5.
Key responsibilities include enforcing process standardization, conducting quality assurance reviews, supporting checkpoint meetings (as needed), and submitting authorization packages to the Navy Authorizing Official (NAO) for authorization decisions in accordance with the latest RMF Process Guide (RPG).
As a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV), you will serve as an independent representative of the Security Control Assessor (SCA), responsible for validating RMF Step 4 in line with the RPG and SCA Risk Assessment Guide.
This role will primarily focus on supporting cloud authorizations under PEO Digital but may also extend to NMCI and ONE-NET authorizations when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance reviews for RMF Steps 2, 4, and 5, ensuring alignment with Navy RPG and SCA RAG guidelines.
- Bring expertise in Navy Cloud authorizations, including knowledge of DoD Cloud Computing SRG, Cloud Service Models, Impact Levels, DISA Provisional Authorizations, FedRAMP, and Inheritance.
- Collaborate with Information System Security Engineers (ISSE), Information System Security Managers (ISSM), PSO, SCA Liaisons, and the NAO to facilitate Security Authorization Package reviews, process requirements, and resolve issues.
- Partner with ISSE to conduct vulnerability testing (e.g., ACAS, STIGs) and propose remediation or mitigation strategies.
- Review control assessments, ensuring sufficient evidence is available to support control compliance.
- Provide technical leadership on cloud technologies, guiding the team on specialized cloud requirements.
- Utilize Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) for authorization reviews.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance required .
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years applied Department of Navy cybersecurity, Assessment and Authorization (A&A) experience.
- Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) certification in good standing.
