Maintains and upgrades all hospital electrical systems. Performs electrical testing of electric equipment to ensure that JCAHO and other standards are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Installs, repairs, replaces and tests electrical circuits and equipment systems for heating, ventilating and air conditioning and emergency power generating equipment.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and installs wiring to their specifications.
- Estimates cost of electrical jobs.
- Requests administrative permits for installation.
- Tests equipment for government inspector upon completion of work.
- Performs all work in a neat and professional manner.
- Must be flexible for project support and shift coverage.

JOB KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
- Demonstrates proper use of equipment and supplies according to established procedures.
- Assures equipment is maintained in safe and proper working order.
- Adheres to department / hospital policies and procedures in performing duties and assignments.
Qualifications
- High school or vocational / trade school graduate.
- 5 years experience reading blueprints.
- Journeyman's license required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Mass. and National Electrical Code.
