Electrician, Journeyman 730am-4pm

Maintains and upgrades all hospital electrical systems. Performs electrical testing of electric equipment to ensure that JCAHO and other standards are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Installs, repairs, replaces and tests electrical circuits and equipment systems for heating, ventilating and air conditioning and emergency power generating equipment.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and installs wiring to their specifications.
• Estimates cost of electrical jobs.
• Requests administrative permits for installation.
• Tests equipment for government inspector upon completion of work.
• Performs all work in a neat and professional manner.
• Must be flexible for project support and shift coverage.

JOB KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

• Demonstrates proper use of equipment and supplies according to established procedures.
• Assures equipment is maintained in safe and proper working order.
• Adheres to department / hospital policies and procedures in performing duties and assignments.

Qualifications

• High school or vocational / trade school graduate.
• 5 years experience reading blueprints.
• Journeyman's license required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Mass. and National Electrical Code.
