We are seeking to immediately hire a student to assist in laboratory-wide contamination control activities. Responsibilities and experience will include chemical and thermal vacuum laboratory tasks, precision cleaning of aerospace hardware, and cleanroom and laboratory supply stocking and maintenance.
Required Qualifications :
- Must be a current USU student pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Physics, or related field
- Strong aptitude for laboratory work
- Emphasis on safe laboratory practices
- Ability to apply basic principles of chemistry and physics in real situations
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and capable of following through on assigned tasks
- Ability to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer
- Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US person
Preferred Qualifications :
- Freshman or Sophomore in school
- Successful completion of general chemistry lecture / lab
- Experience with high vacuum equipment is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- To support cleanroom work, must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift and reach above head frequently
- Must be able to put on Personal Protective Equipment independently
- Must be comfortable working safely with chemicals in a cleanroom environment
