edu Position Details Job Summary The office of Enrollment Services at Eastern Washington University invites applications for an Admissions Advisor to support EWU’s Office of Admissions .

The Office of Admissions at EWU strives to meet undergraduate freshmen and transfer numbers that reflect Eastern Washington University’s mission of transformation, opportunities and excellence, and make EWU an exemplary diversity serving institution for future students .

The Admissions Advisor will be responsible for recruitment of prospective students for Eastern Washington University through territory management, travel, prospective student communication, admissions presentations, and file review.

The territory of work consists of but is not limited to Washington counties in addition to a number of other WUE and non-WUE states.

A successful candidate for the Admissions Advisor position should be passionate about helping people and fulfilling their needs in the moment, be able to maintain detailed and up-to-date understanding of assigned programs and responsibilities, demonstrate a positive attitude toward work assignments, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

The salary for this position is $40, 019 (minimum) up to $48,027. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.

  • Previous work experience in admissions, recruitment or student advising;

  • Travel where designated to represent the University and support recruiting efforts;

  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with guidance counselors, community organizations and agencies, and other key influencers;

  • Advise prospective students, school personnel and families on processes / policies relating to application, admissions, financial aid, and academics;

  • Coordinate recruitment activities & participation of other departments, faculty, student services, enrollment management, etc.;
  • Perform outreach activities; participate in events; serve as university liaison; disseminate university information;
  • Assist with on-campus and off-campus recruitment events including the information sessions, fall preview day, spring yield events;
  • Maintain and document regular monthly contact and achieve contact goals with applicants, primarily via phone, text and / or via e-mail or letter to assist with the application process and provide information as required;
  • Produces follow-up reports regarding recruitment activities and future plans, and accurately forecast projected new students a periodic basis, and analyze yearly activity and use data to plan travel for the following years based on review for the successful management of specified recruitment territory.

  • Advise students and key influencers on admission and financial aid status and processes;
  • Evaluate new student credentials adhering to university admissions policies;

  • Updates and maintains inquiry databases, applicant databases, CRM, and other communication platforms, and prepares weekly and monthly activity reports as requested;
  • Maintain technological skills necessary for file review, admissions processing, and strategic territory management;
  • Interpret WSAC and NACAC policies in making admissions decisions;
  • Utilize national best practices related to holistic admissions review;
  • Represent EWU at conferences and other professional events; participate in networks, org’s, activities;
  • Advise supervisor on issues and concerns of students or of departments;
  • Analyze and assess programs / projects; develop reports and proposal to enhance early outreach programs; and
  • Assist with specialized admissions projects.
