Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a Fabrication Post Processing Team Lead , for our Faribault, MN facility.
This position plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. Trystar’s Fabrication Post Processing Team Lead position is an important part of Trystar’s plan to become the world’s foremost custom solution provider.
The Fabrication Post Processing Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the post processing team.
They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely production of high-quality powder coating and U.V. Printing of components and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
In this role you will get to lead a team of production associates to execute production, improve and implement effective manufacturing processes, utilize concepts of lean and 6 sigma to drive a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement, while working to achieve key performance metrics and meeting / exceeding customer expectations.
This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

In this role you will get to :
Team Leadership : Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the powder coating team, ensuring they work cohesively and efficiently to meet production targets and quality standards.
Partner with area Supervisor in determining weekly schedules employees, including authorizing overtime based on business needs.
Work Allocation : Arrange and control daily team activities for the paint line to ensure smooth workflow, quality production, inventory accuracy, and timely delivery.
Assign tasks and projects to team members based on their skills, expertise, and workload capacity, ensuring a balanced distribution of responsibilities.
Quality Control : Monitor the powder coating process to ensure components and assemblies meet required quality, environmental, and safety regulations and standards.
Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Work Coordination : Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, and production planning, to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Equipment Maintenance : Ensure that the powder coating equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition. Coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
- Safety Compliance : Enforce safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure team members are equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Process Improvement : Continuously evaluate fabrication processes and procedures, seeking opportunities for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented and the area is compliant with safety and 5S requirements.
Be a change agent within the department driving continuous improvement & waste elimination.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate records of production data in Epicor, work progress, and any issues or challenges encountered during fabrication operations.
- Help Supervisor in tracking attendance and timecard accuracy of hourly associates.
- Assist with inventory, packaging, shipping / receiving, and general facility maintenance as needed.
- Projects, in partnership with Supervisor, staffing for daily and future production needs.
- Help Supervisor to conduct safety and training programs.
- Support with mentoring hourly associates in work area and facilitating problem solving.
Job Requirements : BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2 years’ experience in electrostatic powder coating and or print processing
- Ability to read instructions, safely operate machines and visually inspect parts produced.
- Accuracy and timeliness in completion of work assignments is a must.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis.
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend plant directives written in English.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Have basic computer skills and accurate data entry experience for receiving and issuing products.
- Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret process sheets, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc. and to keep accurate account of materials used during manufacturing process including scrap amounts.
- Ability to grind components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Basic understanding of blueprints, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly.
- Frequent lifting, standing, bending & reaching required.
- Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Must adhere to all the PPE requirements to perform the job safely, this includes but is not limited to, Eye, Hand, Feet, and Hearing protection.
- Proficiency with various surface preparation techniques, including chemical cleaning, sandblasting, and grinding tools and equipment to achieve desired finishes on metal components.
- Understanding of different metal types and their specific grinding and sandblasting requirements.
- Attention to detail and the ability to achieve precise and consistent surface finishes.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and proper handling of grinding and sandblasting equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
