Description :
The Mechanical Technician will draft detailed pipe fabrication drawings for projects within the pipe fabrication department.
Use drafting program to prepare fabrication drawings of piping from data submitted by Client customers and their engineers.
Create readable drawings for shop to use.
Calculate dimensions, allowances and technical specification involved in accordance with established practices.
Compile bills of materials and specification sheets.
Compose RFI’s to ensure all specifications or drawings are correct and understood.
Collaborate with designers on new and special work.
May check drawings as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Requirements :
High School Diploma / GED is Required.
Basic knowledge of piping fabrication required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
1 year of pipe drafting experience is Preferred.
AutoCAD or CAD experience desired.
SpoolFab software knowledge desired.
3-D design visualization desired.
Mechanical background desired to assist in understanding spool drawings.
