Job Description

About the Role

  • Manage projects though their entire lifecycle : from concept through design, manufacturing, construction, and client handoff.
  • Be accountable and responsible for project schedule and budget management through the full project lifecycle.
  • Be the primary project point of contact between VBC and the client once initial preconstruction contract is executed, and through the full project lifecycle.
  • Project contract facilitation, scope development, change management, and review : including prime contract and subconsultant / subcontractor contracts.
  • Be the liaison between all internal VBC teams design, manufacturing, and construction through the execution of the project.
  • Lead VBC project teams through the design and execution of the project; make or facilitate all project level decisions.
  • Schedule and lead all project weekly meetings including internal and external.
  • Responsible for reporting project health to VBC leadership, including budget, schedule, design progress, procurement progress, etc.
  • Manage internal and subconsultant teams in obtaining permits from all applicable AHJ entities through the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with modular logistics team and all stakeholders to ensure implementation of the logistics and set plan.
  • Review project quality assessments from the Manufacturing Quality teams to understand project health during the manufacturing process.
  • Detailed schedule management : full lifecycle schedules as well as two-week or three-week look ahead when necessary. Weekly project schedule reporting to leadership.
  • Detailed budget tracking and management including both spend and forecast. Responsible for weekly and monthly project budget reporting to leadership.
  • Responsible for final project handover to client, including appropriate documentation.
  • Project financial review and approval including invoicing, billing, and purchase orders.
  • Manage project submittals and approvals internally and externally.
  • Manage RFI flow and communication among all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and mentor Assistant Project Managers
  • Manage the interface between design, manufacturing, construction, purchasing, and finance to ensure faithful and profitable execution of VBC projects.

Qualifications

About You

  • Minimum (10) years of work experience managing projects in the AEC industry. Experience managing 100+ unit multi-family residential projects from inception to delivery is preferred.
  • Experience generating, managing, and reporting project budget required.
  • Experience generating, managing, and reporting project schedule required.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams including internal and external design teams required.
  • Experience managing projects through design and construction process required.
  • Experience reviewing and managing complex client and subconsultant contracts required.
  • Experience in identifying project risks including design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other project-specific issues required.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and commenting on project documentation (large

multidisciplinary architectural and engineering drawing sets), safety rules, procedure manuals, schedules, RFIs, etc. required.

  • Proficient with Procore, Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Experience with industry specific software and technology (e.g., Procore, BIM360, Microsoft Project, Blue Beam, Smartsheet)
  • Ability to work independently and make significant project decisions required.
  • Strong leadership skills preferred.
  • Highly organized and motivated individual preferred.
  • Positive attitude, ability to motivate both colleagues and all people involved in a project preferred.
