Currently, we are looking for a Senior Program Specialist in Communications to join our team.

A Senior Program Specialist in Communications is responsible for planning, producing and distributing strategic communications for assigned functional areas and projects;

supporting the document production process; and seeking to create new solutions to improve communications at INPO. Individuals in this role could lead and / or participate on industry-facing activities and will lead in the development of new plans, models, processes and techniques.

This individual will strategically influence the suite of INPO communications tools / channels and will coach and council leadership on effective communications skills.

Assigned work will be accomplished with little to now oversight required.

Essential Functions

Function as a Communications Single Point of Contact (CSPOC) assigned to support up to two vice presidents responsible for INPO major operations in industry or corporate strategies.

Coach and counsel assigned vice presidents, directors and managers in effective communications skills and tactics.

  • Produce and set the standard for high quality internal and industry communications, communication strategies, plans, and projects to support organizational initiatives and meet the needs of stakeholders.
  • Functions as the lead for one of the suite of INPO communications channels and coordinates and implements a variety of content for eConnect, mConnect, ION, INPO Insight and INPO Member Website.
  • Capable of strategically influencing the suite of communication tools to ensure high quality and message integration.
  • Applies Change Management principles to assigned change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in providing basic graphic support for specific products - eConnect, ION and INPO Vision monitors as well as in PowerPoint and publication design.
  • Participate in and lead nuclear industry-facing activities domestically and internationally (Communications assistance visits, WANO member support missions).
  • Support and lead INPO and industry conference (All-Employee Meeting, CEO Conference, Site VP / Plant Manager Conference) planning and production to include leading cross-functional teams to produce meeting collateral (videos, visual designs), guiding the development of agendas, guide message development for senior leaders, slide production, and logistic support.
  • Writes strategically impactful speeches of advanced levels of difficulty for executive VP and above.
  • Coordinates and successfully fulfills document editing requests.
  • Supports the INPO industry response center as an on-call communications coordinator 2-3 weeks per year and participating in emergency drills.
  • Coaches and mentors team members as applicable.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education, Licenses, and Certifications

Required

High School Diploma or GED

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field

Experience

Required

  • Four or more years of professional work experience
  • Two or more years of experience in corporate communications, marketing, journalism, or public relations

Preferred

  • Six or more years of corporate communications, marketing, journalism, or public relations
  • Four or more years of supervisory experience
  • Experience leading and managing projects or sub-teams, and knowledge of project management

Work Context

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Works under minimal supervision
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and crawl
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
