Kentucky Bar Association License Physical Requirements Requires handling of light-weight objects up to 10 pounds. Sitting, standing, and / or walking for long periods of time.
Performing repetitive motion tasks. Ability to navigate campus for meetings. Effectively communicating with individuals form diverse backgrounds and varied professional levels.
Shift Typically, Monday Friday 8 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm. Additional work hours may be assigned as necessary. Job Summary Provide legal advice and assistance to administrators and faculty throughout the University in all areas related to Research.
This includes regulatory compliance, research misconduct, development of intellectual property, grant administration, and complex contracts related to research and intellectual property.
The lawyer will work frequently with and report to the Senior Associate General Counsel designated for research and intellectual property matters.
At times, the lawyer will work with other lawyers in the Office of Legal Counsel. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
No Preferred Education / Experience Minimum of four years of practice of law with three years of experience in contracts.
- Other preferred experience and characteristics include : six months’ experience directly related to one or more areas of research support and compliance, including experience with human subjects research;
- 2) six months’ experience advising clients on issues related to intellectual property, including patents, copyrights, and trademarks;
- 3) membership in the Kentucky Bar or eligibility for admission without further examination; (4) outstanding writing ability;
