Overview and Responsibilities :
CBS News Colorado is looking for a dedicated video editor and news writer to work alongside newscast producers to deliver relevant, urgent, and community-serving news content! This person must thrive in a fast-paced television news environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Write and edit news scripts for broadcast and stream productions
- Write compelling, succinct, clear news scripts under tight deadlines
- Video editing of content for news broadcasts using Avid systems preferred
- Candidate must be adaptable with work schedule
Basic qualifications :
- Related college degree and / or equivalent
- At least 2 years experience in television news
- Proficient in non-linear editing
- Keen eye for detail including, spelling, fact-checking, balance, and fairness
- Ability to respond rapidly and optimally to breaking news
