At Great Wolf,the Director ofEngineering sets the vision and managing theeffective functioning of the entire hotel / resort and / or property,including physical buildings, grounds, mechanical, electrical, andHVAC systems.
This is a senior management level position, whichmanages budget, capital expenditure projects, preventativemaintenance and energyconservation.
EssentialDuties &Responsibilities
- Developsengineering organizational strategies by contributing engineeringinformation, analysis, and establishing engineeringobjectives
- Establishes engineering operationalstrategies by evaluating engineering trends; establishing criticalmeasurements and designing engineeringsystems
- Determine and monitor production,productivity, quality, and customer-servicestrategies
- Develops engineering financialstrategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipatingrequirements, trends, and variances;
aligning monetary resources;developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results;initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact ofvariances
- Establishes best practice standardsincluding developing policies, procedures, andworkflows
- Conduct engineering projectmanagement by evaluating feasibility; identifying requirements andresource utilization, studying available technology, conferringwith engineering consultants, completing cost-benefit studies, andestimating costs relative to budget
- Maintainsuninterrupted operations by coordinating provision and backup ofsupplied utilities
- Provides technicalinformation by analyzing operational problems, collecting,analyzing, and summarizing technical data andtrends
- Updates job knowledge by trackingupdates in regulations and codes; participating in educationalopportunities, maintaining personal networks and activeparticipation in professionalorganizations
- Conduct supervisoryresponsibilities by communicating and enforcing values, policiesand procedures; selection, orientation, training, coaching anddisciplinary counseling, and monitoring jobperformance
BasicQualifications &Skills
- Associatesdegree or equivalent experience
- PlumbingLicense, Certified Pool & Spa (CPO) License, Aquatic FacilityOperator (AFO) Certified
- 2+ years of workexperience with managing multiple teams of technical employeesthrough projects
- 1+ years of senior managementexperience
- Experience with engineeringdesign

- Previousexperience in leadership role in resort / waterparksetting
- Bachelors degree or equivalentexperience
- Able to develop, implement, andmonitor programs that adhere to all appropriate regulations,including : Ergonomics, Emergency Response, Injury and IllnessPrevention, and HazardCommunications
