Frontwave Arena is seeking a Part-Time Box Office Attendant for our 7,500-capacity indoor entertainment and sports arena responsible for delivering outstanding customer service by assisting guests with ticket purchases, will-call pickups, problem solving ticketing issues, and providing general event information.
This role requires a friendly and professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
The Box Office Attendant ensures that all guests have a seamless and enjoyable experience from the moment they purchase their tickets to the time they enter the arena.
Work Location & Hours
Oceanside, California
Part-Time hourly position with varying hours.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required to support events.
Pay Scale
$20.00-$24.00 hourly contingent upon experience.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Ticket Sales : Process ticket sales for events using the arena's ticketing software, handling credit card transactions accurately.
- Customer Service : Greet customers, answer inquiries regarding event schedules, seating arrangements, pricing, and arena policies.
- Will-Call Management : Assist with the distribution of pre-purchased tickets at the will-call window, ensuring proper identification and verification.
- Event Support : Provide information about upcoming events, promotions, and special offers. Assist with any special requests or accommodations as needed.
- Issue Resolution : Address and resolve customer issues, complaints, or ticketing problems in a professional and courteous manner.
- General Administration : Maintain accurate records of sales transactions and prepare end-of-shift reports.
- Compliance : Ensure all ticketing procedures comply with arena policies and regulations, including ADA requirements and privacy standards.
- Team Collaboration : Work closely with other box office staff, security, and event operations teams to ensure smooth event execution.
Reporting Relationships
This position reports to the Box Office Manager.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in business, hospitality, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a customer service, retail, or box office setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to operate computerized ticketing systems.
- Proficiency in handling cash and credit card transactions.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the event schedule.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, such as lifting up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions
- Environment : The role involves working in a ticket booth, which may require sitting or standing for long periods. The environment can be fast-paced and noisy, especially during event days.
- Schedule : Part-time or full-time hours, with varying shifts based on event schedules, including late nights and weekends.
