Job Summary : The Traveling Mechanical Construction Project Executive is responsible for providing executive oversight and strategic leadership for multiple mechanical construction projects nationwide.
This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection, as well as extensive project management experience.
The Project Executive will manage client relationships, ensure projects meet financial and operational goals, and lead teams to deliver successful outcomes.
Travel to various job sites is required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Oversight : Provide executive-level leadership and direction to mechanical construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring that all projects meet or exceed budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
- Strategic Planning : Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans for project execution.
Assist in setting project goals, defining scopes, and aligning resources to achieve success.
Client Relations : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
Address any concerns and communicate progress regularly to maintain trust and transparency.
Financial Management : Oversee the financial performance of mechanical projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Ensure that all projects are completed within budget and meet profit margin goals.
- Project Delivery : Ensure that all project milestones, schedules, and contractual obligations are met. Work closely with project managers to resolve any issues that arise during construction and to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
- Risk Management : Identify and mitigate risks associated with project execution, including contract disputes, change orders, delays, and cost overruns.
Implement contingency plans as necessary to safeguard project outcomes.
Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and support project managers, superintendents, engineers, and other team members to ensure successful project delivery.
Provide guidance and direction on best practices, problem-solving, and technical challenges.
- Preconstruction Support : Collaborate with the preconstruction and estimating teams during the bidding phase to review and approve project estimates, schedules, and execution strategies.
- Resource Allocation : Ensure that the necessary labor, equipment, and materials are available for each project. Coordinate with local and national teams to allocate resources efficiently across multiple job sites.
- Quality Control : Oversee the implementation of quality assurance and quality control measures on all projects to ensure that work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
- Safety Leadership : Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all job sites. Ensure that all projects comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Travel Requirements : Travel frequently to various job sites across the country to provide on-site leadership, monitor progress, and ensure project success.

Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical construction project management, with a focus on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
Previous executive or senior management experience in mechanical construction is required.
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.
g., PMP, LEED AP, PE) are preferred.
Technical Expertise : In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
- Leadership Skills : Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience overseeing large project teams and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- Financial Acumen : Proven experience in managing budgets, forecasting costs, and delivering projects on time and within financial goals.
- Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Software Proficiency : Proficient in construction management and project scheduling software, such as Procore, Primavera, MS Project, and BIM systems.
Knowledge of financial software is a plus.
- Problem-Solving Skills : Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve project-related issues quickly and effectively. Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Certifications : OSHA 30 certification or other relevant safety training is preferred.
