Sr. Technical Program Manager, Store Rendering Tech

Amazon's Store Rendering Tech team seeks an experienced Technical Program Manager to revolutionize software upgrades across thousands of web applications at Amazon scale, leveraging Generative AI and code transformations.

Store Rendering Tech operates managed services and builds runtimes and libraries that accelerate Amazon Store builders to create CX that delights shoppers.

We are responsible for services, frameworks and runtimes used for rendering experiences and features for web, and the developer experience for building across device surfaces.

In this role, the candidate will shape our technical direction and define the platform products that allow our teams and customers to innovate quickly.

Specifically, Store Builders across Amazon spend 100s of development years performing undifferentiated activities like framework upgrades and setting up their services in new regions.

This role will focus on reducing the cost of upgrades for our rendering frameworks such that Store Builders effectively get new software for free.

You will have the opportunity to solve hard computer science problems and help the business every day.

The ideal candidate is a technology leader, customer-obsessed, and able to gather and deliver on requirements across a diverse array of businesses.

They excel at connecting existing technologies with new innovations, and mapping out gaps in our platform offerings. This experienced professional drives for the optimal balance of flexibility, ease of use, and safety in scalable toolsets that can accommodate a large number of business use cases, even with competing or conflicting requirements.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive large scale projects spanning teams across Amazon from inception to conclusion, formulate the product vision, define user stories, research appropriate technical solutions.
  • Clearly communicate vision, plans and project status to Amazon executives and key technical and business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the software development team on delivering high-quality solutions, and provide guidance regarding architecture, design, and priorities.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs balancing the business needs versus constraints.
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management
  • Experience defining KPI's / SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400 / year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
