The Director, Clinical Operations is responsible for clinical operations for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Operations (CNHS), the Director, Clinical Operations is responsible for coordinating all clinical and practice experiences for CNHS students by assisting leadership in identifying clinical sites for students to successfully complete evidence-based learning opportunities.

The position represents CNHS to clinical and external agencies, student and community through clinical relationships, compliance and partnership development efforts.

This individual must have a strong organizational and communication skills and an in-depth understanding of the regulatory requirements related to nursing and other professional licensure and postsecondary distance education.

The Director Clinical Operations will have experience with healthcare compliance, and establishing long-term relationships with healthcare facilities for the purpose of providing health care and nursing clinical practiceexperiences.

This position requires travel.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CNHS) leadership to establish and maintain contractual relationships with health care facilities for the purpose of providing health care and nursing clinical practice experiences.
  • Collaboration with the office of Strategic Partnerships (SPA) in identifying and maintaining partner relations.
  • Maintain effective professional relationships with outside organizations and community stakeholders.
  • Manages relationships with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and other clinical agency sites forCNHS students to complete clinical and practice experience requirements.

Obtains signatures for initiating, renewing, or terminating contracts between Excelsior University and health care facilities, based on alignment with program objectives.

  • Manages relationships with existing health care agency partners to ensure student and health care site satisfaction as well as successful clinical and practice experiences for students.
  • Responsible for the identification and assessment of concerns related to clinical and practiceexperiences; and facilitates appropriate intervention with faculty and Academic leadership.
  • Coordinates and attends healthcare-related events and represents Excelsior University by promoting a positive image.
  • Develops innovative relationships with hospital educators and leadership to provide educational services.Coordinates with health records partner to ensure students and faculty are compliant with clinicalpartner requirements or prevent them from entering clinical partner sites if they are not.
  • Maintains health record database.
  • Serves as a role model for faculty, staff, and students in the areas of customer service, collaboration,communication, excellence, attendance, and general professionalism.
  • Utilizes relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win win negotiation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
  • Clinical site visits as required.

Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience in business development. Candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter who can be a team player and desires to share creative solutions and best practices.

Requirements include problem-solving and critical thinking skills; Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Inside sales and / or sales support skills helpful ideal candidate will have 3-5years of successful demonstration of business development and / or sales competencies.

Solid experience working in the healthcare field; proficient in working directly with or for providers is preferred. Ability to make presentations to healthcare leaders and educators and be comfortable developing relationships via phone and in person.

Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks ability to tolerate frequent interruptions.

Professional experience working in a regulatory / accreditation environment. Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The hiring salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $100,000.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
