Job Description :
The Director of Finance at F-Prime Capital will be joining an eight person finance team and will report directly to a Vice President of Finance.
We are currently expanding our team to support our growing assets under management. While working directly with the Vice President of Finance you will be required to build relationships with the fund accountants, treasury, tax, legal, COO and investment professionals.
We are looking to fill this role with someone who is professional, diligent, can handle multiple tasks and has strong verbal and written communication skills.
The Team
Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Director of Finance is responsible for managing accountants and providing financial decisions to support the business.
The Expertise You Have
- Education : A bachelor's degree required; CPA certified preferred
- Must have at least 5-7 years of accounting / finance experience with some years of experience in public accounting; venture capital accounting experience preferred

- Must be extremely detail-oriented, have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently but can easily ask questions or solicit feedback when necessary
- Appreciates monthly and quarterly deadlines and adheres to a strict close schedule
- Self-starter with strong sense of ownership and involvement is critical
- Advanced skill set in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Investran and or eFront preferred but not required
The Value You Deliver
Fund Performance Reporting
- Coordinate and compile data required to evaluate the fund's overall performance
- Prepare monthly fund performance reporting for three to five venture funds
- Review changes in the fund performance and assumptions with the VP of Finance
- Assess the fund's performance against other benchmarks
- Coordinate capital calls to ensure funds are available for investments and fund expenses
- Assist in reviewing quarterly management fee capital calls to ensure its in compliance with the limited partnership agreement
- Prepare distributions in accordance with the limited partnership agreements and coordinate review with VP of Finance, COO, tax and fund accountants
- Prepare and communicate notices related to distributions
- Evaluate the fair value of each private portfolio company quarterly along with preparing audit documentation
- Prepare and submit the fund's five-year forecast
- Assist in the preparation of Limited Partner Meeting presentations
- Review Fund Financial statements and provide feedback to the preparer
Portfolio Management
- Coordinate document requests for all of the active portfolio companies
- Evaluate financial performance of the active portfolio companies; evaluate cash-out date
- Maintain current data in our portfolio management system, eFront
- Be engaged in an IT implementation effort(s) to support our growing portfolio and reporting needs
