Duties and Responsibilities
Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, invites applications for a Temporary, One-Year Instructor Appointment (non-renewable) for 2024-2025.

This search is part of a university-wide, multiyear hiring initiative designed to hire outstanding researchers and teachers who are reflective of our diverse student body and committed to interdisciplinarity (i.
e., working with colleagues across different subfields and disciplines). Of special interest are candidates who can further the University's efforts to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Teaching responsibilities shall include a 4-4 teaching load. The position involves teaching first and / or second-year laboratory chemistry sections.
The ability to teach other courses in our curriculum would be an advantage. In addition, candidates will be required to supervise graduate student teaching assistants.
Qualifications
The candidate will have a PhD in chemical sciences or related areas. Candidates for the position must clearly demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and have a record of (or clear potential for) student mentorship.
The candidate should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education.
