General Maintenance Worker

The General Maintenance Worker performs repair and maintenance on a variety of equipment, systems and structures; including lab equipment, grounds machinery, etc.
Reports directly to the Foreman and may be assigned to support various trades’ responsibilities as required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing various maintenance services under the direction of the Foreman.
- Diagnoses and repairs various mechanical and plumbing equipment.
- Performs minor carpentry, masonry, and structural work.
- Performs repairs to plumbing systems, roof and area drains, door systems and other general components of buildings.
- Repairs and maintains pumps, grounds equipment, air compressors, and miscellaneous mechanical items.
- Repairs lab and lab support equipment.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school Diploma
- Minimum three (3) years of mechanical and electrical maintenance helper experience within past three (3) years.
- Completion of technical school or comparable training such as military and industry programs is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to determine work methods to accomplish assignments.
- Perform work in accordance with applicable building codes and government and Ajanta rules and regulations.
- Must have multi-skill experience
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and / or fingers.
The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
