Description
SCOPE :
The Project Manager is part of the Center of Excellence (COE) Project Management Office (PMO) and plays a key role in the success of projects at Christensen Inc.
Working closely with executives, business unit leaders and stakeholders, this role serves as a leader and coach to project teams throughout the life of a project using Project Management and Change Management tools and techniques.
The Project Manager role is a career stepping-stone role at Christensen and reports to the Director, Center of Excellence.
SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES AND DELIVERABLES
- Manage projects assigned through each stage of its lifecycle
- Apply Change Management methodology in conjunction with Project Management
- Manage budget and resources for projects in an effective and efficient manner
- Project Management Software Administrator
- Project Management Process Administrator
- Train and mentor new Project Managers
- Deliver assigned projects using Christensen's Project Management strategies, on time, within scope and budget
LEADERSHIP AND TEAM REACH
The COE PMO supports all divisions within the company. As such, the Project Manager may manage projects for any area within Christensen.
The Project Manager will be responsible for :
- Collaborating with the project executive sponsor and project leads to develop the project charter, manage scope, budget and deliver expected outcomes
- Providing role clarity to project team members, ensures team members have a clear understanding of their deliverables, and tracks the progress of projects
- Coordinating with project leaders to ensure all documentation is completed and to learn as much about the process and team norms / roles for the project they will be leading
- Maintaining interactions with the various project team members, gain a high-level understanding of their areas of responsibility and act as a thought partner with the project leader to identify process improvement opportunities
- Training and coaching project team members on the usage of various Project Management tools such as : business requirements, business case development, project charter, project plans, process maps, RACI documents, risk assessments, risk analysis, PM technology, UAT plans, etc.
- Acting as the system administrator for the Project Management system, managing licenses, intake forms, templates, and system fields to ensure seamless alignment with project management processes.
- Driving improvement within the PMO department by working to improve existing systems and processes then sharing among the Christensen organization
- Being an example to others by understanding, modeling and promoting Christensen's Core Values.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business, or a related field
- Valid WA, OR, or ID driver's license
- 3-7 years of project management and related experience required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or attainment of certification within 1 year of employment
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Prosci Change Management certification preferred
SKILLS
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and capable of building cross-functional relationships required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities required
- Fast learner, resourceful, adaptable, and creative thinker required
- Experience completing projects using Project Management methodologies required
- Experience creating Process Maps, Training Materials and Procedures preferred
- Experience in SharePoint Administration, Workflows, Power Automate, PM Software preferred
- Experience in the Fuels and Lubricants Business, Fuels Distribution, B2B Distribution preferred
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

- Operates in a professional office environment.
- Regularly required to talk and hear virtually and in-person
- Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% required
