Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for responsible for maintaining daily log of daily pre-operative and post-anesthesia patients in accordance with established policy.
Observes patient behavior, focusing on biophysical, developmental, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and sociocultural needs.
Assists patients during transfer procedure / floor / discharge including personal items and equipment. Assists in preparing patients for surgery, including shaving, assisting with changing into a gown, etc.
Assist RNs with bedside nursing care and perform and assist with observation of special equipment, tubes and drains and assists with care of prosthetics and support devices as directed.
The CNA must be able to prioritize and process physician orders accurately and within designated time frames; seeking assistance as needed.
The CNA is responsible for the answering of patient calls, and receives, greets, and directs patients / visitors; records and delivers messages for patients / staff.
Qualifications
Six (6) months CNA experience preferred at acute care facility
Current, valid CA. Certified Nursing Assistant certificate OR
Evidence of completion of Nursing Fundamentals within the last months from an accredited Registered Nursing program AND currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nursing program.
BLS Certification (AHA and current)
CPI or NCI certified within days of hire and annual renewal thereafter
Ability to work in high volume, fluctuating census environment
Subject to many interruptions
Subject to irregular hours
Ability to work in fast paced environment where noise levels fluctuate
