PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES : Quality / No Harm :
- Maintain a safe environment forpatients / customers, team members and yourself.
- Ensure the correct procedure is performed on thecorrect patient by verifying two forms of patient identification on EveryPatient / Every Time .
- Perform time out process prior to starting anyinvasive procedure.
- Adhere to the ALARA principles of radiationsafety.
- Knowledge regarding location of emergencyequipment / supplies and how to use such equipment / supplies.
- Familiar with the Health First Emergency Kardexand responsibilities in relation to specified emergent codes.
- Responsible for hurricane preparedness and yourduties as a Health First associate.
- Follow Infection Control policies andprocedures; practice aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Effectively document and communicate pertinentand required information.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to theappropriate department, fellow associate and management in a timely manner.
- Accurately complete all requireddocumentation / forms written / electronic (ex : patient history, pregnancy, IVcontrast, procedural consent, MAR, safety portal, medication reconciliation,PACS.
- Review exam orders from medical charts and / orprescriptions prior to performing an exam.
- Obtain pertinent patient history from therequisition, the patient, the medical chart or other sources.
- Perform procedure protocols, produce imagesconsistent with image quality standards and follow all Federal, State andRegional healthcare regulations and adhere to Joint Commission / ACR standards.
- Properly position patients and uses appropriatetechnique.
- Assure that exam rooms are clean, neat, stockedand disinfected; and that equipment is clean, disinfected and ready for thenext patient encounter.
- Follow proper image retrieval and fileprocesses.
- Participate in quality initiatives and offer suggestionsfor departmental improvements including departmental protocols, policies, andprocedures.
- Accept additional responsibilities to assistwith reaching departmental goals / initiatives.
- Attend staff meetings / in-services as required.Reads and signs off on all staff meeting minutes as required.
- Properly identifies, prepares and / or administersmedications that are within the technologist’s scope of practice as prescribedby a licensed independent practitioner.
Stewardship :
- Utilize supplies / equipment with care in a safe,proficient and cost effective manner
- Ensure computer data is appropriately enteredfor each procedure, charged completely and appropriately for all procedure(s)performed and supplies used.
- Demonstrate effective time management skills
- Complete jobs / tasks in a timely and concisemanner.
- Willingly assist in other areas of thedepartment and hospital or act as a Health First representative when needed todo so.
- Utilize Kronos time clock system properly;report to work area on time and follow break and lunch policies.
- Maintain flexibility, adapt to changes inworkflow processes and the needs of the Health First organization based uponfluctuations in patient volume
Customer Experience :
- Communicate effectively with customers(patients, LIP, other Health First associates, the public, etc.) usingexcellent customer relation skills at all times.
- Provide appropriate pre and post procedureeducation to each patient.
- Respond appropriately to patient / family concernsor complaints.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :
- Certified and registered in radiography orradiation therapy by the ARRT must maintain certification and registration atall times or
- Certified and registered in nuclear medicinetechnology by ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board(NMTCB) must maintain certification and registration at all time
- Possess a current Florida State License as aGeneral Radiographer
- Must either be Crossed-Trained in CT orsuccessfully complete a formal education program CT that meets the ARRT’sstructured education requirement and clinical experience requirement.
- Advanced ARRT (CT) examination obtained withintwo (2) years of hire / transfer
- Prior CT experience preferred.
- Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare ProviderCompletion Card prior to start date and maintain.
- Computer-related skills deemed pertinent foroptimal technical performance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to report to department within 30 minuteswhen on call.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Able to walk, bend, stoop, reach, and liftthroughout their shift.
- Able to move, lift, or position patients asrequired.
- Able to push wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.
- Dependable and flexible in relation to coveringrequired shifts.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted, severaltimes per day.
- Able to wear lead aprons for extended periods oftime.
