Truck Centers, Inc. is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Troy, IL. This role is responsible for providing a wide range of HR services to support our people and company overall.

This position is on-site with flexibility to work remotely about one day a week as needed.

What You’ll Do :

Healthcare Benefits Management : Handle all aspects of healthcare benefits, including new hire enrollments, terminations, changes, and monthly reconciliations.

Manage billing issues and the Open Enrollment process.

  • Leave of Absence Administration : Oversee employee leaves of absence and ensure accurate processing of short-term disability payments.
  • Worker’s Compensation Support : Assist with worker’s compensation claims, including filing, tracking lost time, ensuring treatment payments, and completing OSHA compliance reporting.
  • Unemployment Claims Management : Respond to unemployment claims efficiently.
  • Performance and Talent Management : Support performance review, goal-setting, and talent management processes.
  • Payroll Assistance : Serve as a backup for payroll and assist the Payroll Manager as needed.
  • COBRA Administration : Manage COBRA benefits in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Wellness and Safety Communication : Draft monthly wellness and safety articles for our company newsletter.
  • HR Reporting : Prepare and analyze HR reports and metrics to support informed decision-making.
  • Job Description Development : Create and maintain job descriptions as needed.
  • Employee Relations : Address employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, complaints, and investigations, with professionalism and timeliness.
  • Separation Agreements : Draft separation agreements and general releases when necessary.

Qualifications

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR :

Education / Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role with a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations

License / Certification :

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certifications are a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet insurance requirements.
  • High-level of discretion and professional judgment to ensure confidentiality.

Additional Experience :

  • Strong personal conviction for producing quality work on time as part of a collaborative team or independently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects seamlessly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; coaching ability is a plus.
  • Ability to work as a liaison with vendors and represent the company professionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and HR Information Systems (HRIS) including Paycom, Workday, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with DOT-FMCSA and OSHA is preferred.

Pay Range : $48,871-$73,307 per year

Additionally, this position is also eligible for our monthly incentive program that is dependent on goal achievement. Incentive eligibility begins on the first day of the month following 90 days of employment.
