As an HR Generalist, you will be vital in ensuring our team members have the support they need to succeed. You'll provide a wide range of HR services to support our business objectives and the employee life cycle.
Working closely with the HR Director, you'll implement HR policies and programs, manage employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and safety.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :
- Manage company healthcare benefits, including new hire enrollments, terminations, changes, monthly reconciliation, billing issues, and Open Enrollment.
- Oversee employee leaves of absence and ensure accurate processing of short-term disability payments.
- Assist with worker’s compensation claims, including filing claims, tracking lost time, ensuring payment for treatment, and completing OSHA compliance reporting annually.
- Manage responses to unemployment claims.
- Support performance appraisal and talent management processes.
- Serve as payroll backup and assist the Payroll Manager as needed.
- Administer COBRA benefits in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Draft monthly wellness and safety topic articles for our company newsletter.
- Prepare and analyze HR reports and metrics to support decision making.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions as requested.
- Handle employee relations issues, such as performance management, disciplinary actions, complaints, and investigations in a timely and professional manner.
- Draft separation agreements and general releases.
Qualifications
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR :
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet insurance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role, preferably in the transportation industry with a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- High-level of discretion and personal judgment to ensure confidentiality.
- Strong personal conviction for producing quality work on time as part of a collaborative team or independently.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects seamlessly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; coaching ability is a plus.
- Ability to work as a liaison with vendors and represent the company professionally.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HR software, such as Paycom, Workday, or similar HRIS.
- Experience with DOT-FMCSA and OSHA is preferred.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
