As Head of Individual Markets, Business Risk & Resiliency, you will complete the Risk & Resiliency frameworks for the Individual Markets ( IM ) business.

You will complete Line of Business risk management strategies, enhance existing programs, and support IM in managing risk while meeting business and regulatory requirements.

You will represent the Risk & Resiliency organization to the business, providing leadership, strategy, and innovation vital to deploy the risk framework and develop a robust risk-aware culture.

You will

Partner closely with IM Leadership Team to drive the Risk & Resiliency program according to Guardian standards, in part by facilitating Risk Working Groups on a regular cadence for visibility and accountability.

Raise topics to the appropriate risk committees as warranted.

Assess key risks at the Line of Business and process level and ensure transparency into key risk action items through coordination and engagement with business process owners as well as risk and control partners.

Implement resiliency framework through maintenance of a comprehensive business process inventory, development of business continuity plans and resiliency solutions, testing of resiliency plans, and responsible for the business coordination of Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management efforts.

Own and drive maintenance of the Enterprise Risk Register (Archer), including creating awareness of reporting requirements and practices to self-identify risks and ensure data quality.

Facilitate risk discussions, develop lessons learned, advise on risk remediation trade-offs, challenge solutions, and ensure accountability for IM risk remediation plans.

Manage Key Risk Indicator (KRI) reporting for IM, including monitoring existing KRIs, evaluating effectiveness of KRIs, and identifying new KRIs with business sponsorship.

Support Enterprise Risk Management initiatives related to stress scenarios, risk appetite, policy, and evolving governance framework to further the risk culture.

5+ years of proven ability in the Insurance industry, experience in a risk management preferred

Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.

The ability to accelerate impact and the desire to lead change

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Head of Business Risk & Resiliency, who reports to our Chief Risk Officer within Enterprise Risk Management.

Location

Hybrid : 2 days in office, 3 days WFH. Preferred location Hudson Yards, NYC; Bethlehem, PA; Holmdel, NJ : Pittsfield MA or Stamford CT

Salary Range

$126,970.00 - $208,600.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.

In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
