PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE

The Maintenance Supervisors primary responsibility is to provide direction and leadership to the team of maintenance technicians.

Work involves the procurement, design, installation, operation, maintenance and ongoing support of multiple telecommunications and data transmission systems, including traditional switches, enterprise communication servers and other specialized application servers.

Ideal candidate need a variety of skills, including technical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills; as well as soft skills, such as communication skills, leadership skills, and emotional intelligence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage a team of telecommunications technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure they perform their duties effectively.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunication systems, including voice, data, and video networks.
  • Develop and implement procedures and best practices for the operation and maintenance of telecommunications systems to ensure reliability and optimal performance.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve problems promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted communication services.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand their telecommunications requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and standards related to telecommunications systems and recommend appropriate upgrades or enhancements to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure the procurement of cost-effective telecommunications services and equipment.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of the telecommunications infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes accordingly.
  • Maintain documentation and records of telecommunications systems, including network diagrams, equipment inventory, and maintenance logs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to telecommunications, data privacy, and network security.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications, such as CCNA or CCNP, are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in managing and maintaining telecommunication systems, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, networking protocols, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping
