We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Bookkeeper, for a part time position, to manage all AR / AP for our construction company.
You will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, efficient financial operations, and compliance with industry regulations.
This role requires a self-starter who can work independently and effectively manage the financial aspects of a dynamic construction business.
Experience in bookkeeping is required.
Key Responsibilities :
Bookkeeping :
- Maintain and update accurate financial records using accounting software ComputerEase.
- Process daily transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Manage construction project costs, including tracking expenses and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
Compliance and Reporting :
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards, including construction industry-specific requirements.
- Assist with financial audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Administrative Support :
- Maintain and organize financial documentation and records, ensuring proper filing and easy retrieval.
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and subcontractors regarding financial matters and payments.
- Manage financial correspondence and respond to inquiries as needed.
Process Improvement :
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends, accounting practices, and regulations
Qualifications :
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, preferably in the construction industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. ComputerEase, ProCore) and Microsoft Office Suite
Excel, Word).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations, with experience in construction accounting preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with construction-specific accounting software or tools.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, including job costing and contract management.
- Experience in sales tax collection and reporting
