We are searching for a HR Generalist to join our team in the Thomaston, Connecticut area. The HR Generalist will be instrumental in handling numerous HR functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and requires an individual who can handle employee relations, payroll, and benefits, among other duties.
he HR Generalist will play a critical role in ensuring our company is compliant with all regulations and that our employees are happy and supported.

Responsibilities :
- Handle all aspects of employee relations, including disciplinary procedures and training initiatives.
- Oversee the administration of payroll and benefits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Understand and manage environmental health and safety regulations within the workplace.
- Ensure compliance with FMLA and Workers Compensation regulations.
- Assist in the management of immigration programs and shared work programs.
- Act as a backup for payroll processing when required.
- Oversee the open enrollment process for employee benefits.
- Work closely with the plant manager, participating in daily calls and assisting in decision-making processes.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of HRIS Payroll Systems and other relevant software.
- Implement and monitor shared work programs in collaboration with other team members.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar HR Generalist role
- Proficient in HRIS Payroll System
- Strong understanding and experience in Employee Relations and Compliance
- Knowledge and experience in FMLA
- Familiarity with Occupational Safety practices
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in administering benefits and understanding of Benefit Functions
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
- detail oriented certification in HR (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including federal and state EEO / AA practices and regulations, Fair Labor Standards Act, ADA, and other government compliance regulations is a plus.
