Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS , is a 182-bed treatment facility, conveniently located in beautiful Oakland Park, FL that specializes in the successful treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults and seniors.

MANAGER - Assessment & Referral - Days
The Admissions and Referral Manager , works under the supervision of the A&R Director. In this position, the individual will provide direct administrative oversight to A&R staff in the provision services in the admissions department to include clinical evaluations, crisis intervention, coordination of referrals, verification of benefits, and the overall operations of the admissions department.
This individual will also be required to complete clinical assessments of individuals suffering from behavioral health concerns or substance use disorders, in order to determine level of care and safe treatment plans.
The incumbent interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department heads, administration, treatment teams, external case managers and managed care organizations.
Supervisor will assist the A&R director with ensuring appropriate staffing for the department, ensuring that EMTALA guidelines are followed and assist with the completion of statistical reports that are required on a routine basis.
This individual will ensure that they effectively communicate with the A&R Director any pertinent issues that could impact the orderly running of the department.
Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling staff accordingly per assigned shifts.

Qualifications
Education / Training :
- Registered Nurse (RN) or minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health counseling or a related field.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent
Experience :
Minimum of Three (3) years of direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
Licensure / Certification :
- Licensed to practice in the State of Florida as an RN, LCSW, LMHC, or licensed psychologist preferred.
- CPR certified
Knowledge and Skills :
- Knowledge of assessment and referral procedures
- Knowledge of rules and regulations set for by various external agencies (JCAHO, AHCA, DCF, etc.)
- Excellent customer relation skills
- Knowledge of insurance precertification
- Knowledge of patient rights, abuse of children and vulnerable adults, as well as Marchman / Baker Act / Ex-Parte laws
- Knowledge of facility / corporate policies and procedures
- Sensitive and aware of diverse cultures and their practices
