The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support the goals of an assigned department. This role oversees core HR functions for our CUA location, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and management of the Human Resource Management System (HRMS).
Examples of Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent, high-quality HR operations and practices across the assigned department that align with CPA standards and regulations.
- Maintain open communication with managers, gathering feedback and implementing changes to improve employee satisfaction, engagement, and productivity.
- Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process to meet staffing needs.
- Manage onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for all new hires.
- Lead department-wide performance evaluation processes.
- Administer progressive disciplinary actions and documentation, including termination proceedings.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and grievances.
- Identify training needs and implement professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO).
- Oversee compliance tracking for background checks, clearances, and mandatory training.
- Partner with the organization’s finance team to support accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Manage HRMS functions, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
- Oversee employee change processing (promotions, transfers, rate changes, terminations).
- Maintain current, accurate, and audit-ready HR files and electronic records.
- Provide timely and accurate workforce data and reporting.
- Participate in agency committees, including the Safety Committee.
- Contribute to special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
