Overview of the Payroll Specialist role :

Timely coding and processing of invoices to accurately meet the daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines of the department.

Reconcile vendor statements.

Research discrepancies and implement solutions related to vendor accounts.

Communicate with vendors and staff.

Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications for the Payroll Specialist :

Knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations, particularly for Oregon and Washington

Familiarity with union payroll processing and reporting requirements

Proven ability to manage garnishments, including child support and other wage deductions

Experience issuing manual checks and handling off-cycle payroll corrections

Experience with quarter-end and year-end payroll processing and reporting

Strong customer service mindset, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Payroll system experience - ADP Vantage preferred
