We deliver secure, high-quality language solutions in more than 80 spoken and signed languages for USCIS and other federal agencies.

We are seeking Kurdish Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Kurdish, spoken across Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Iran, and diaspora communities, is a priority Middle Eastern language for asylum, refugee, and immigration cases. Both Kurmanji and Sorani dialects are in high demand.

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time Kurdish (Kurmanji and / or Sorani) English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and asylum proceedings.
  • Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in sensitive immigration and legal contexts.
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with USCIS / DHS interpreter standards.
  • Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge calls.
  • Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.

    • Qualifications

  • Native or near-native fluency in Kurdish (Kurmanji and / or Sorani) and English.
  • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, asylum, legal, NGO, medical, or government strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and neutrality standards.
  • Strong knowledge of Kurdish-speaking cultural contexts.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 clearance.
