Overview
We are adding a new Air Data Systems Manufacturing Engineering Technician who works independently and collaborates effectively to our Manufacturing Engineering team in Burnsville.
In this role you will apply your expertise and contribute to the team with a focus on troubleshooting and optimizing automated production equipment. You will also have opportunities to apply your advanced skills solving complex problems and adapting procedures, processes, and techniques. To be successful accomplishing tasks and goals in this position, you will need experience making sound, data driven decisions and take calculated risks. Responsibilities
- Proficiently troubleshoot / debug automation equipment (PLC / HMI).
- Maintain operation of automated and semi-automated production equipment and systems. This may include performing preventative maintenance or repairs on equipment.
- Apply Visual Basic programming skills and a solid understanding of computer programming and software development.
- Apply experience with robot arm programming, maintenance, and related software (preferably FANUC).
- Monitor and ensures mandatory modifications, programs, and bulletins are incorporated or complied with as required by the customer and the applicable regulatory requirements to ensure legal compliance and adherence to quality standards.
- Identify opportunities or implement changes, on a need basis to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts to optimize productivity and ensure optimal use of resources.
- Develop procedures for the economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments.
- Conduct tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; troubleshoot and solve production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
- Review field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment.
- Determine maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
- May be responsible for making recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
- Work with a sense of urgency in a fast paced, high output environment on a variety of short-term projects.
Basic Qualifications
Typically requires HS Diploma or AA / AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of experience supporting production equipment in a manufacturing environment.Experience with robot arm programming, maintenance, and related software (preferably FANUC).Visual basic programming skills and a solid understanding of computer programming and software development.Proficiency in SAP.Effective interpersonal and communication skills.Organizational skills and the ability to effectively identify and prioritize.Self-directed- able adapt to changing priorities and assignments while successfully executing.Bias for action- embraces change and willing to take calculated risks.Benefits
