job_description.job_card.job_descriptionCreate new tooling / fixturing and processes / procedures for the introduction of new motors and / or the improvement of existing motors Develop and maintain testing policies, procedures, and performance metrics to achieve manufacturing objectives Understand and implement machining, part creation / fabrication and measurement techniques using GD&T best practices Investigate, assess and resolve production issues Implement improvements to current operations to improve efficiency Communicate with suppliers to procure tooling, fixtures, and equipment Create assemble and test procedures for production hardware Analyze layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization to maximize efficiency Support Operations in meeting design requirements by utilizing manufacturing tools and equipment Design detailed assembly procedures and tooling Generate procedures from industry and aerospace specifications Design test fixtures Communicate designs and intent with team members and suppliers Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to tool / fixture design, material selection, facility layout, cost estimates, DFM concepts, GT&D practices, and shop documentation Secure external resources to maintain equipment operation Ensure practices support safety and standardization Create, maintain and refine manufacturing documentation (Operation Sheets, Routers, Setup / Tooling sheets, etc.) Generate, optimize, validate and maintain CNC programs using CAD / CAM tools Design efficient / safe tools and fixtures for motor manufacturing and operations Generate accurate estimates (setup, cycle time, material, etc.) Monitor performance metrics and communicate status to management Communicate issues promptly to internal / external stakeholders Contribute to a positive, cooperative, safe work environment Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives Bring initiatives to closure through effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders Facilitate training to maintain a cross-trained workforce Adhere to safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies Contribute to a positive work environment and participate in team meetings Keep management informed of area activities and issues Assume related duties as required and ensure work areas are clean and well maintained Manufacturing / machine shop environment with typical exposures such as fluids, fumes, airborne particles, moving parts, noise and vibration Combination of professional office and manufacturing environments; standard office equipment and required PPE May require 5-20% travel This is a full-time position with schedule : 4 days x 9 hours (Mon-Thu) + 4 hours on Friday; overtime / weekend work as needed Frequent talking and hearing; vision requirements including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Position Profile
The Production Engineer is primarily responsible for the technical management, maintenance and development of new and existing production lines. This individual supports the objectives of Marotta Controls, Inc. relative to manufacturing and operational goals. In this role the Production Engineer will develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, test equipment, and processes that continually ensure that equipment capacity will meet customer demand. The Production Engineer will also implement process improvements based on demonstrated improved yield results and participate in defect reduction activities and lean initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
- 5+ years\' experience in design and manufacturing of electric motors
- 2+ years of related experience in a production / operations environment
- Working knowledge of electric motors and their components, the processes and techniques for manufacturing, and the equipment and methods for testing
- Excellent verbal / written communication skills for interactions with all levels of personnel and outside agents
- Highly computer literate, with MS Office / PC expertise, and experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
- Must be a US Citizen
